Introduction

A seafarer ticket is a ticket where a young man need to get to enable him to become a seamen

Steps

  • Need to sit an entrance exam to enter TMTI
  • Sit a final exam if your name is on the final list
  • Recruit if you gain more than 70% on the final exam

*Start Junior stage (For 4 months)

    • Cover topics on
  1. Seamenship
  2. Basic Bridge Procedure
  3. Basic occupational Health Safety
  4. Basic Engineering
  5. Maritime English and Maths

*Start Intermediate stage (For 4 months)

    • Practical on Onboardship

Criteria

THE FOLLOWING ARE THE CRITERIA FOR YOUNG MEN WHO WANT TO SIT THE TMTI EXAM

  1. Hold a Tuvalu Passport
  2. Spend more than three years staying in Tuvalu
  3. Have a clear Police Report
  4. Have a clear Medical Certificate
