About myself
Lets see what all I know about myself........
Personal
I am a very high spirited person and try to keep myself indulged in one or the other activities of my interest.I love to learn new things and explore new ideas.
Proffesional
I am studying B.Sc.(Hons)Botany from Gargi College,D.U., .
Interests
Academics
- Ever since I have entered this course I have started loving Botany. Botany is one of the most beautiful and interesting fields of Biology.
- Besides Biology I loved to study Mathematics,infact I wanted to become a maths teacher once.I sometimes regret that it isn't a part of our syllabus now.
Other Interests
- I very good at sketching faces.Drawing is the most valuable job for me. This makes me more close to my subject as we have to draw a lot while making files, projects etc. and I love doing that.
- Besides this I love doing Poetry when I am free.My much unpopular work has been published in newspapers and some college magazines.
- I also like to play Badminton and I was a school champion in this once,....but life has changed thereafter and I hardly manage to go to the court and do any justice with this interest of mine.
- I also enjoy singing and dancing, though there are no notable achievements in this field so far...
Life at Gargi
Gargi is no doubt one of the best colleges in Delhi university.We receive a very friendly,yet educationally enriched atmaosphere here.I have evolved at all levels of consciousness in Gargi. At present I am a member of some societies in Gargi which have helped me to be the person I am today.
N.S.S{National Service Scheme}
The activities we take part here are heart warming and soul uplifting.We are not only taught moral values here which I guess most of the youth lack now a days,...but also contribute much to the society.These noble deeds like Blood donation,spending time with children,aged and mentally challanged people brings a bliss. I also held the illustrator for the annual N.S.S magazine Savera.The experience was indeed fantabulous.
HUES{The Fine ARTS society}
This is the most colourful society in Gargi.It's fun to be a part of it as i feel I was born to be an Artist.We worked for the Environment by making posters and environut batches and much for our college fest Reverie.
N.C.C{National Cadet Corps}
Though I am not a part of it now but N.C.C is a great society to learn discipline and patriotism. Participating in Camps held by this actually makes you independant and confident.
Our MAST society G.C.B.S
G.C.B.S is the pride of Gargi and one of the Best societies as well. The best thing about the society obviously, is our subject,i.e Botany...
BOTANY
Botany is all about the plants,....and I mean everything! It came to be a much annoying moment when someone said that you people end up studying just classification and names of plants in Botany which I guess is the much popular view of most of the people. But that's not true. Like all other fields Botany is a great science to learn. Besides the above mentioned,there are a varity of interesting subjects like Genetics,Biochemistry,Physiology,Ecology,Embryology,Phycology,Economic Botany,......to mention a few. Anyhow essays can be writen about the subject, but let me just land up here,...

The most memorable Excursion trip
This is the most enjoyable part of every student of Botany in all the three years.I still recollect the beautiful scenic view of the snow capped mountains in Ramgarh and the enchanting land of Mukteshwar.We used to sing all the way, had great food and stay and fight for the best samples.........
Our Fest
Every year we celebrate our annual society fest Ficus. Its real fun to go well dressed, take part in the competitions in groups and win prizes.
Carrier interests
There are a number of things I have thought for myself,....but not worked specially for even one. Obviously, doing M.S.c is the most appropriate thing to do.....If not that,I mean if i'd not get addmission into some good field i'll definitely opt for a an adventurous life of a Pilot. Lets see what does life has for me.......
My achievements
Ever since I am in Gargi, I have gained a lot of exposure. I have taken part in n number of activities and witnessed some of the greatest moments of my life.I'll try to list them out,...but yet for me they remain countless!!!!
- I held the art director and illustrator for some of teh college magazines like-
- "Eureka"
- "Anthesis"
- "Savera"
- 'Logos'
- With my gang, I participated and won many intercollege competitions. Each time we used to get some cash prizes, we all would jump in excitement and end up in bitter silence if our work wasn't appreciated.
- We learnt to bring sponsorships for Ficus which is a very interesting yet challenging task.I was more than happy to get appreciation for bringing one of the highest sponsorships for the event in the first year.
- I've been a member of many societies of our college which gave me loads of experience.
How I became a Wikieducator?
Our respectable teacher and botanist Dr.Gita Mathur has always encouraged and motivated the students to participate in new activitis and accept difficult challenges, the story of me joining this workshop is also about the same. She used to tell us about her beautiful experiences as a wikieducator which fascinated all of us. It was a pride to know that she was awarded for the same too. I was more than excited to get attached with this group when she mailed us about it.
My Experience as a Wikieducator
Initially I was a bit shy and nervous to start. I didn't know how to begin and what to write. I just gave a look at other participants profiles and I thought that even I could do it. Slowly and gradually I tried to learn the lessons for each day,....it was more than fun to join it.
