August 2007 till date Lecturer at the Amity Institute of Education, Amity University, Uttar Pradesh.
June 2002 till July 2007 I have been doing freelance editorial work for Mind’s Eye, consultants dealing primarily with newsletters for embassies and reports of a general nature
Jan 2001 till July 2007 I have been working as an editor for Byword Editorial Consultants, initially on a part-time basis and currently as a freelancer. Byword specialises in science and medical textbooks and journals. I am required to do both technical and substantive editing. I have been primarily working on medical journals, WHO documents and medical textbooks
Jan 2002–May 2002 I worked on preparing material for the web site of Travel Inn (India). The work involved researching and sifting information to write pieces relevant to travel and tourism
Mar 1997–Nov 2000 Wrote articles of general interest, ranging from information warfare to health, largely for the Chandigarh Newsline, a supplement of the Indian Express, Chandigarh and the Tribune, Chandigarh
Nov 1995–Mar 1996 Worked on designing CBTs (Computer Based Tutorials) for NIIT, New Delhi. The job entailed reviewing software and designing an interactive tutorial which would guide the learner through every step of installing and using the software. I left to join my husband who was then posted in a remote area of Sikkim
Apr 1993–Apr 1995 Junior Research Fellow at the National Physical Laboratory, New Delhi. My specific area of study was perpendicular magnetization in thin films, which is of great value in the field of high-density recording. I was required to prepare thin films by two different methods, subject them to stress and then study alterations in their magnetic behaviour. One aspect of my study was bombardment of the films at the Nuclear Science Centre, New Delhi and CEERI, Pilani.

Besides the usual seminars and reports, I presented papers at two international conferences held in Hyderabad and Indore, respectively, in the duration of these two years

Dec 1991–Dec 1992 Diploma in Radiological Physics from the Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics, Kolkata which qualified me to be a health and medical physicist at both hospitals and scientific establishments using radioactive materials.
