BACKGROUND

I am young, dynamic, hardworking, flexible and with focus in exploring and exploiting new opportunities and ideas towards personal and human progress for a better world. Becoming the dream.

  1. Goal: To explore and exploit ICT opportunities that facilitates human development and economic sustainable initiatives by establishing environments or structures that enable access to relevant and timely information, formal or informal education opportunities and resources for career development, skill acquisition and business skills development or investment opportunities that compete globally to the information and financial poor rural communities.
  1. Work Experience

My working experience is mainly facilitating human development and economic sustainable initiatives by establishing environments or structures that enable access to relevant and timely information, formal or informal education opportunities and resources for career development, skill acquisition and business skills development or investment opportunities to the information and financial poor communities. Bridging the digital divide through ICT for development projects. I strongly believe that Education, learning and provision of relevant and timely information are among the most important of all human activities and always have been the principal means of creating productive and sustainable societies. I have been involved in developing a replicable model for social change in rural communities, it has three main elements, commercial, Social and educational. The commercial element stems from associated commercial services. This is the essential basis for the sustainable development of social and educational services. All social and educational systems have to be paid for, and in countries where they are free at the point of delivery they are paid for through national and local taxation, which in turn is dependent on income generated through commercial sector. The approach has been to develop this model on a local level, in that its commercial activities that have been subsidizing social services and education/training of sustainable income generating initiatives for the communities we work with where tax systems are not developed to pay for social and education services.

  1. Project Management

My experience has been establishing the projects programme of organisations from scratch, this experience ties with a strategic planning process for the programme, that helps maintain a focused, long term vision inline with the organisation’s mission and purpose, and aid decision about the allocation of human and financial resources.

  1. Volunteering Experience

I consider myself as an active volunteer and advocate of volunteering and volunteerism for development, I have worked in different capacities as a volunteer, volunteered with VSO for a two year placement and involved in promoting volunteering for development through organizing awareness and volunteer management training workshops, I have been actively involved from beginning in the development of the Nigerian National Volunteering Programme (Greater Involvement in Volunteering Effort – GIVE) that is facilitated by VSO Nigeria. I am part of the seven member GIVE steering committee that is working on a guideline document or policy for the programme in Nigeria. I helped Fantsuam Foundation develop the volunteering programme, draw the volunteer policy and partner with VSO. In Kenya, I am a member of a volunteer promoting organisation, National Volunteering Network Trust (NAVNET). Returned VSO volunteer from Kenya set up NAVNET to promote volunteering and volunteerism in East Africa.

  1. Communication Skills

With time I have developed a strong communication skills, from spoken, written, technology and approaches that fit different levels of people, offices and community discussions. I have self-confidence in communication at all levels, an experienced facilitator and trainer from the grass root level of interacting with rural community members and leaders to the higher level of the top government officials, international development agencies, corporate bodies and the religious sect. I have a strong background of technology and communication especially the Internet, I realise the power of Internet in communication, information and opportunities for development. My interest is based on Information and Communication Technology for Development.

  1. Ability to adopt

I have a good experience in adopting to different cultures, traditions, food, climate or new environments and staying away from family and friends as well as creating new friends easily wherever I find myself. I don’t have problems in changing working conditions and plans because I am aware that there is a need to be dynamic and flexible in development work especially when working with people from different places with different cultures, traditions and habits. I have developed a strong culture of reassessing my expectations several times and turning the weakness and threats to strengths and opportunities respectively.
