I am Meera Mehta.I am an Assistant ProfessorShaheed Bhagat Singh College a constituent of the University of Delhi. I teach in the Deptt. of Commerce.

MY EDUCATION

I did my schooling from different places in India as my father has retired as an engineer from O.N.G.C. I did my B.COM(in 1988) and M.COM(IN 1990) from D.A.V(P.G)College,Dehradun H.N.B.Garjwal University.I completed B.Ed from Annamalai University in 1992 and did a PGDMSM from Bhartiya Vidhya Bhawan in 1993.I cleared my NET in 1997.I completed my M.Phil in 2008 from Vinayaka Missions University.I have also done a 1yr Diploma in Russian Language from South Delhi Polytechnic.MY NAME IN RUSSIAN MEANS"PEACE".

MY CAREER

I started my teaching profession in 1993 from M.K.P (P.G) College,Dehradun.I taught under graduate classes for 4yrs.I discontinued my job for personal reasons(my husbands transfer)however, I continued teaching in schools (while moving with my husband).In 2003 when we were posted in Delhi I joined as an ad-hoc lecturer in Shaheed Bhagat Singh College and later became a permanent Lecturer in the same college in 2005.

I LIKE"

I like to read my favourite books in free time. I also like listening to old hindi film songs while I am working.I am also into travelling and I will love to visit very corner in India.I am also interested in sports.Icaptained the school Basketball team in the regionals.

MY CAREER

I stood seventh in the university in B.COM.

I stood third in the university in M.COM.

I recieved a scholarship from UGC in the final year of my graduation.

MY WORK"

I have presented a paper at the ICBM conference,Bankok on "Testing the Efficient Portfolio of BSE 30 Index. . I have presented a paper on "E-Marketing" and "Virtual Organisations-there Virtual Exsitence".

I prepared my desertation on "Risk Management in Canara Bank".

I have enrolled for P.hd and the topic of my research is Risk Management in selected Public Sector Banks-A CASE STUDY OF ALLAHBAD BANK.

IN MY COLLEGE

I TEACH

I teach Computers to the students of B.COM(H).I have been teaching this subject since the last 4 years.This year our college started with the practical part of this paper and we successfully conducted the practical exams for 278 students.Other than this I am also interested in Corporate Accounting,Commercial Law and Marketing Management.

ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP

When I started with this workshop I had my doubts about its practical implementation. Ofcourse,one thing I was sure about was that it will help me in my personal growth and help in interacting with my students.However, it turned out to be a different world. I want share this wonderful experience with everyone I know.
