Karl Donert is UK National Teaching Fellow at Liverpool Hope University, coordinator of the HERODOT Network for Geography in higher education (www.herodot.net) and President of EUROGEO (the European Network of Geographers – www.eurogeography.eu). He is a member of the Council of Europe Education and Environment Groups and former Hon. Vice President of the Geographical Association. Karl is a senior academic with extensive experience in educational development in higher education and in schools and particularly in a teaching-led, research-informed context. He is recognised as an expert in learning and teaching with particular interests in international developments, academic networking, research and development partnerships and effective pedagogies in higher education through the creative uses of new technologies. He has a national and international profile in his specialist areas and a strong track record in leading major international activities. He has been working in these contexts to raise the profile of internationalisation in higher education.
