Tēnā koe, my name is Kate Timms-Dean and I am a senior lecturer in the Educational Development Centre at Otago Polytechnic. I teach content relating to Te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) and Māori language and culture in a range of programmes across the Polytechnic including the following:
- Graduate Certificate in Tertiary Learning and Teaching (Level 7)
- Bachelor of Applied Business
- Bachelor of Nursing
- Bachelor of Social Services
- National Diploma in Massage Therapy
- Certificate in Human Services (Level 4)
- National Certificate in Mental Health (Mental Health Support Work) (Level 4)
I am currently enrolled in the doctoral programme in Māori Studies at the University of Otago. My thesis topic is Indigenous language revitalisation with a particular emphasis on the Māori language in Aotearoa New Zealand, and Scottish Gaelic in Alba <span id="fck_dom_range_temp_1268259130687_924" />Scotland.
