Hello friends! I am working as a Assistant Professor of Zoology in Miranda house University of Delhi. I did my B.Sc. and M. Sc. in Zoology from Miranda House. My M.Phil. work was on Biodiversity of rotifers in the backwaters of Delhi segment of river Yamuna and Ph. D. was on Limnological studies on two shallow, eutrophic, man-made lakes in Delhi. I did my research work in the Limnology Unit of Department of Zoology, University of Delhi.

Research Interests

Limnological studies on Shallow lakes

  • Patterns of spatio-temporal variations in physicochemical and biological characteristics. Analyzing the trend of patterns using indirect gradient multivariate data analysis technique, Principal Component Analysis (PCA).
  • Preparing a checklist of micro-floral and faunal planktonic and/or epiphytic species.
  • Elucidating relationships between biological assemblages of species and their environment by using direct gradient multivariate data analysis technique, Canonical Correspondence Analysis (CCA).
  • Comparative analyses of the results obtain from the diverse ecosystems with contrasting characters.
  • Factors determining Algal Blooms mainly due to Cyanobacteria

Biodiversity of zooplankton, especially Rotifers and Claodcerans in various aquatic ecosystems

Plankton dynamics in relation to water quality in the Flood plains and Backwaters of rivers

Host specificity of epiphytic assemblages for different macrophytes, especially water hyacinth and water fern
