1. Profile
My name is Joseph Sannie Samuels. I have been working at the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) since 1 November 1998. I started as the first Director of Standards Setting and Development. Since 1 August 2005, I am working as the Deputy Executive Officer. I created the account while being on a visit to the Singapore, National Institute of Education. The purpose of the study visit was to understand the initiative to work towards developing a Vitual University for Small States in the Commonwealth.
I have experience in the following areas:
- education and training policy
- adult and continuing education
- standards setting
- quality assurance
- national qualifications frameworks
- serving on numerous committees on education and training policy.
