Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austin

Please don't be fooled by my choice of a classic, this book, offers a clear and amusing insite into the lives of the English gentry during the late nineteenth century. The pace is lively, the language although dated is not heavy and for those of you studying English A level its a great choice as you will be entertained while you learn.

Schindler's Ark by Thomas Keneally

An extremely powerful book that is currently being talked about again because of a follow up story, Searching for Schindler and of course the movie, Schindler's List. This is a true story written in the form of a novel. Some may feel this is irrelevant now, so long after the fact, however we must always be cognizant of what we are capable off to avoid repeating our mistakes. The subject matter doesn't detract from the quality of the writing.
