Practice area. --Nellie Deutsch 23:03, 27 July 2009 (UTC)

Hi Billy! I suggest you try things out here. I will be notified of any changes made and will be happy to help you with the wiki markers. --Nellie Deutsch 14:10, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

Ok Nelly! I tried doing stuff directly on my page and it had a strange effect. When I say directly, I mean I went editing the user page in my usual way..it was when i tried the 'levels' that things went hay-wire...so let me go a bit at a time, saving and noting..

I kinda wonder how many colors there are..
Does this exist (orange) for example?
What does this (aquamarine) produce?
How 'sophisticated'(vermillion) can one get?
This MUST (yellow) work!
And this is it for now... MAGENTA!!!
Now is this the same as above? The color PURPLE
With this degree of sophistication, VERMILLION will NOT be the same as RED
And it wasn't!!! Though your color sense would have to be very good to detect it.
Let's use earth colours for a while...

BOLD

Italic text

Level one

Level two

Level three

Level four

Level five
Level six=
Now this should move this in
Now this should move this in even more
Will this move this in to the third tab?

(Comment.gif: Congratulations, Billy. Looks like you have mastered the color markers. As for the headings. I am not sure what the problem is? I removed the spaces as you can see and got the table of contents. --Nellie Deutsch 15:20, 1 August 2009 (UTC))

(Comment.gif: Wow Bill -- that's impressive -- note that you don't need to use the "br" after headings -- we typically use this to force a line break. Enjoyed your experiments with colour! remember - if you use html tags like "font colour" remember to close the tag after the point where you want to apply the style by inserting </font>. Have a bash trying bulleted and number lists as well as playing with bold and italics. You're well on your way to your first certification. Well done!!! Thanks for the encouragement Nellie Deutsch and Wayne Mackintosh!!! I have been rather delinquent in not keeping up but will try to play catch up again.

Let's see the things I need to do :

  1. First show that I know how to do formatting with bullets and a numbered list.
    • I have a little problem with this in that I don't naturally think in lists!!
    • This has often bothered me as I try to contemplate putting material into a PowerPoint presentation.
  2. Then I'd like to get my pictures not 're-sized' - I DO know how to do that Nellie, but instead put them all on a different page and set up a link to go there.
    • This is because I like their size but there are too many of them for my 'user page'..
  3. Catch up with all the stuff that has been going on since I've been AWOL. :-( :-(

I'm quite proud that I managed to get the formatting I did above! (mixing my list types!)
Hope it qualifies me for my first 'certificate'!!  :-) :-)

And now for a 'personal' new page : wjcfambly

And a PDF document..a most interesting one actually...if I can only persuade a large enough group... have a look... Sailing DDI (Down de Islands) Harumph...PDF document was saved in the wrong orientation and nothing I have tried so far has gotten it to change around..sorry!!! :-( :-(

I'll end my learning and practice session today with an audio greeting to my tutors, facilitators and fellow wikieducators: Audio greeting for practice Hmmm again...can't get my browser to read that...have any of my facilitators tried and with what result? --BillyJ 05:25, 6 August 2009 (UTC)
