About Myself I am Prof. Asha Gala, Head of the Economics Department at S.I.E.S. College, Sion, Mumbai. I have been teaching Econmics at the unergraduation level since 1977. I began my teacheing career at R.A. Podar College, Matunga, Mumbai. Educational qualification I did B.A.(Hons) in Economics in 1975 and M.A. in Economics from Mumbai University in 1977. I am a visiting faculty at Management Institutes for MMS and MBA Courses. My Hobbies I like traveling, reading and dramatics. I also like listening to old hindi film songs and Indian Classical Music Files on my lap top while I am working. My other interests Besides teaching in the college i am actively involved in Social Service. I am the Managing Director of a medical centre (Nanji Dharshi Smriti Aarogya Kendra at a 100% earth quake affected village - Tumbdi, Kutch. I have been conferred the following awards: All India Best NSS Programme Officer Vocational Excellence Award, Rotary Club of India Nari Shakti Award

Workshop on Open Education Resources

The MU OER Workshop in Economics was an exciting opportunity for creating new content for global students in an innovative style. The resource persons were very professional and friendly. The co-ordination was excellent and the team spirit was great. We look forward to create an new chapter in the histroy of Mumbai University.
