Frequency

Definition
The frequency of a vibration is the number of cycles in one second.Frequency is a measure of the number of occurrences of a repeating event per unit time, also called a temporal frequency.

Relationship to the Period

The frequency is related to the period by:

$f = \frac{1}{T}$

Units

1/s or Hertz, Hz

Very useful formaula, good use of units and easy to access. crav005

Wave frequency outline and quiz

For an introduction to the simple concepts of frequency and period of waves, see this resource from Illinois. There is also a quiz with '90s style buttons which show you the answers. Internet is great, huh? Woohoo! There's also another very useful website here too(ahud010)

This is a very helpful link. It was very easy to understand and didnt stray off the topic. This link should be kept. klit014
