Artists find ways to express themselves with almost anything available. It is a stamp of their creativity to make extraordinary images and objects from various but fairly ordinary materials. From thread, string and stone to paint, ink, plant life, steel and now electronics and digital media, artists continue to search for ways to construct and deliver their message. "An artistic medium is the substance or material the artistic work is made from, and may also refer to the technique used. For example, paint is a medium used in painting, and paper is a medium used in drawing."[1] As we consider some of the art forms in two-dimensional art take note of how both media and technique are brought together by the artist.
