Regarding Students responsibilities:

Select community organization ~ you might want to ask, on what basis did the student select the community organization. What I'm getting at here, is for students to think about the criteria that they chose the organization....this type of thinking and evaluation extends over the community organization, and into one's future (career) development.

Yes, that's appropriate. The roots of Community Service Learning are actually quite complex and multi-dimensional.
