Skills + Knowledge = Competence

Hiya Vasi - good to be in touch with you! I have a question - are you looking for core skills that relate to all educators or are we talking about adult educators or educators of children? Thanks!

Hi Deborah, I personally believe that there is not much of a difference in the core skills needed by educators. Educators are facing similar challenges whether in primary, secondary or higher education. I know there is a distinction between pedagogy and andragogy as educational theories but in this case I’m more interested in the technogogy ( this is my term for technology supported and empowered leaning, learning with technology not abut it). Most educational debates are around technology Vs pedagogy and focusing on pedagogy first. In my opinion the focus should be on new realty of technology and pedagogy being inseparable and integrated technogogy rather then separated and opposing each other.
