Finally I arrived!

Well, it took me a while to contribute. Internet Explorer was not able to display the cryptic text, so I was not able to create an account. But firefox was so kind to display it.

First of all, if you haven't already noticed you soon will, English is not my first language. So to deal with this once and for all I apologise for all the misspelling, misinterpretations, etc etc. that I most likely will make. And, being typically Dutch, I apologise for probably being too blunt and direct every now and then. I appreciate corrections by the way, that is the only way I find out about my mistakes.

So having dealt with that, let's introduce myself.

I am a 34 year old Dutchy, working for the Department of Conservation. I am responsible for setting up a training programme for new staff for computer training. That involves 'skill checks', demos on how things work at DOC and web based training for systems and databases specific to DOC. I develop all those things myself. We are only starting to touch the online world for training, so all is still very new (6 months ago I did not know the beauty of Adobe Captivate). Only participating in this online course is a great experience in itself for me. A steep learning curve and this course will probably contribute to that.

I have studied Physical Geography but have also a teaching background. Was a high school teacher Geography for a couple of years in the Netherlands, and have developed training material but that was all f2f based.

I have lived in NZ for almost three years now, and have enjoyed every minute of it. I live with my husband in Khandallah, Wellington in a house with view and 911 m2 section, 7km (cycling distance, although a massive hill to tackle on our way home), something that we never could have afford in the Netherlands.
