Images are one way to make your document stand out, often a well chosen image can make the point you're trying to get across more effectively than another block of text. One problem that everyone who creates documents and finds themselves needing images faces is finding images that are legally available for free use.

That's where Creative Commons (CC) licenceing can help out. Essentially Creative Commons licences allow the creator of an image (or just about any other kind of creation) to easily let others know what they can and can't do with their work.

A great way to find images that are licenced under Creative Commons licences is the CC Search website. There you can type in search terms and then search multiple sources of CC licenced images.
