Usage

Parameters

The Quiz_Multiple_Choice template requires three parameters:

  1. a string of letters and numbers that uniquely names the quiz on the page
  2. the heading for the quiz. If left blank, the heading "Multi Choice Questions" is displayed.
  3. the quiz in the form of a nested un-ordered list. The top level items in the list are questions, the next level are the answers, and the lowest level contains the feedback to be displayed when the student selects that particular answer. This formatting makes it easy to edit and print the teacher's resource that shows the questions and answer.
Note: if the quiz text contains one or more "=" (equal signs), then the quiz text must be preceded by "3=" (see Restrictions on parameter values for additional discussion and methods)

Two optional parameters are available:

  1. mix = {true/false}, the default is false. If set true, the answers are randomized within question each time the page is refreshed.
  2. hint = {text}, provides an expandable link which displays the specified text when clicked. Each implementation of the Quiz_Multiple_Choice template allows one hint, such that for template implementations with more than one question, the hint is at the level of the quiz, and is not question-specific.
