Please see the MediaWiki extension « SpecialInterwiki » . You may find a wiki where the extension is installed at http://translatewiki.net/wiki/Special:Version http://translatewiki.net/wiki/Special:Interwiki .
The extension helps to understand the actual configiration and usage of interwikis.
Trial and error as :
- commons:meta:mw:Extension:SpecialInterwiki — fails
- meta:mw:Extension:SpecialInterwiki
- mw:Extension:SpecialInterwiki
- wikipedia:mw:Extension:SpecialInterwiki — fails

I did not investigate about interwiki linking at WikiEducator. The following interwiki chains can be used:

Dear friends; this is a very old request from wikis with non Latin script. Url's are very long and meaningless.
Somewhere at MediaZilla is an older request then bugzilla:021572 "safe referencing the newest version of page using one of its history id" .
Please add the "short link" feature (as available at Yiddish Wiktionary) at all language installations at MediaWiki:Common.js etc. and consider to add also the BiDirectional support. The code is available at my personal monobook.js subpage. It will then be available for all users. Thanks in advance!
