Politics in St. Kitts

Our political system in St. Kitts is based on first past the post . That simply means that in an election the winner of a particular seat would have won the most votes from that voting population. The country is divided into 11 polling populations or constituencies. The adress determines where a person registers to vote. For example the town of Basseterre is divided into three constituencies which are based on location east, central and west. The constituencies are:

  1. ONE CONSTITUENCY 1
  2. TWO CONSTITUENCY 2
  3. THREE CONSTITUENCY 3
  4. FOUR CONSTITUENCY 4
  5. FIVECONSTITUENCY 5
  6. SIX CONSTITUENCY 6
  7. 7 CONSTITUENCY 7
  8. 8 CONSTITUENCY 8

SOME OF THE ISSUES FOR THE POLITICIANS ARE

  • FAIRNESS
  • JUSTICE
  • ACCOUNTABILITY
  • TRANSPARENCY
