Studies shows that mobility and change in the system of production are common adaptation strategies among the rural livestock rearer.This strategies are associated with the problems of high stocking density which lead to over grazing, pasture deterioration high prevalence and outbreak of diseases, low calving rate,increase conflict between farmer and livestock rearer.Change in the production system also comes with its price and the rural communities unwillingness to accepts those changes. For any improvement to succeed and be sustainable it has to be simple, cheap, widely adaptable. supplementing the rural livestock with locally available foodstuff and farm by products can improved their adaption strategies. The use of cassava to supplement the diet of animals can be explore as it can be use fresh or processed,be made available at anytime and it be grown almost everywhere at low cost.
