21F Food & Nutrition would be an advantage, but not essential.
Students will gain insights into the hygiene practices essential in the food industry. They will investigate a nutritional issue affecting the well-being of New Zealanders along with analysing a food related ethical dilema. The influences of media messages on food choices are examined for external assessment purposes. Students can expect to participate in practical food experiences once a week.
19 Level 3 credits available through 4 assessment standards – 4 credits from external assessment.
Employment or tertiary study in areas such as Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Sports Nutrition, Food Science, Health Services.
