No. Only subscribed users can post to the list.

Is this an open list?

Of course! In the spirit of openness, anyone can subscribe and all posts are accessible on the web. Do not post anything you would not like to be displayed publicly on the Internet.

Is the list moderated?

No. We subscribe to open philanthropy and do not moderate user posts to the list. Offensive comments, insults, personal attacks, and inappropriate language will be deleted from the list archives. The OER Foundation reserves the right to ban any disruptive user accounts from the list. Please respect the professional nature of the list and avoid posting advertisements on the list. In the unlikely event of unwanted spam, we apologise, but as an open initiative we prefer open unmoderated discussion.

Can I access an archive of previous posts to the list?

Yes. The archive of posts to the list is publicly accessible at http://lists.wikieducator.org/pipermail/nzopened/ . This is a public archive and you do not need to be a member of the list to access the discussion archives.

I'm getting too much email - what should I do?

This is a low volume list. However, if you feel that you are getting too much email from the list, don't complain, you can self manage. As a small educational charity we do not have the resources to oversee a 24-7 support centre, but here are a few options:

  • Delete posts which are of no interest to you
  • Un-subscribe from the list (see above)
  • Set up a rule in your email client to file posts from this list to a separate folder you can read when you have more time.
