**Title:** Equation of a line in the form y = mx + b

**Why: **There are many real-life applications for the equation of the line in the form y = mx + b. All you need is a starting point (b) and a rate of change (m).

**Learning Objectives: **

1. Learners will read text about the equation of a line.

2. Learners will write the equation of the line in the form y = mx + b.

**Success Criteria:**

After completion of this module, learners will be able to:

1. Explain the function of the slope and y-intercept.

2. Apply the equation of a line to a real-life situation.
