Structure for MODULE 1

Session 1 - Purposes of creating e-portfolio

Objectives

After this session the participant will:

  • recognize different types of e-portfolios
  • be able to define the purposes of creating e-portfolio;
  • learn to distinguish differences between self-development and presentation to the audience
  • understand that different types of skills - soft, ICT and domain-specific - can be developed through e-portfolio use



Session 2 - Privacy issues and selection of artifacts

Objectives

After this session the participant:

  • will understand different levels of privacy when accessing and presenting e-portfolio is considered;
  • will understand the specificity of public access to personal data on the Internet;
  • will understand the trade-off between tendencies to present one's work and to keep some things private;
  • understand the value of publishing for your own;
  • have prepared certain materials for presentation;
  • have disucssed what made her/him not present certain materials;
  • have discussed the relationship between value of the materials and the possibility to publish them;
  • be able to demonstrate which privacy factors are influencing the final presentation of artifact;



Session 3 - Technical requirements and opportunities

Objectives

After this session the participant will:

  • recognize the scope of media available for creating the e-portfolio;
  • have the basic knowledge of how certain tools and services work, including social-software;
  • understand the opportunities given by different media and tools;
  • be able to distinguish advantages and disadvatages of those;
  • recognize ICT skills necessary to develop digital artifacts;
  • be able to assist student with his/her media choice;



Session 4 - Selection of artifacts for different purposes

after this session the participant:

  • will be able to name the purposes that e-portfolio can be used for
  • will be able to select artifacts appropriate for a given situation
  • will be aware that creating artifacts facilitates learning by itself
  • will understand the value of reflection on learning
  • will be able to select artifacts which will facilitate his learning in general
  • will be able to select artifacts
  • will understand the requirements of different presentational situations
    • who is to assess e-portfolio
    • what is the purpose of assessment
    • what skills/competencies need to be evidenced
  • will be able to select artifacts approporiate for a given presentation
