Literacy

Literacy is the ability to communicate effectively in the language one uses. This skill involves the following Language Arts:

  • Reading
  • Writing
  • Speaking
  • Listening
  • Viewing
  • Visually Representing

There are varying levels of literacy. They are:

  1. Illiteracy
  2. Functional Literacy
  3. Competent Literacy

It is imperative for educators to make certain that all students learn to communicate well in the language they use.
