Key points
  • You cannot edit a page in Wikieducator without a valid user account. You must also be logged in.
  • If your PC is inactive for a while, wikieducator will automatically log you out. If this is the case, simply log back in.
  • Every page that is editable will have a link/tab along the top of the main content area that says “Edit”.
  • Pages that cannot be edited will have a tab marked “View Source” instead of "Edit" and your IP address shown instead of your user name at the top.
  • On pages where there are subheadings, there will be an edit link next to the heading so you can edit that particular subsection of the page.
  • If you wish to edit the entire page, click on the “Edit” tab at the top of the main content area.
  • A wiki page has 2 modes: the published mode and the editing mode.
  • To activate the edit mode, click on one of the edit links that appear on any wiki page.
  • The edit mode displays the raw text of the page inside a special text area box. This is the area where you enter new content or modify existing content in the wiki.

Adding some content to you User page

  1. Go to your user page by clicking on your User name at the right of the small head icon at the top of the page. (Note: Your User page is automatically created for you after you create an account in wikieducator).
  2. In your user page, click on the edit link at the top of the page. Your page will now change to the edit mode.
  3. In the text box that appears, type something about yourself.
  4. After you have entered some text, notice the buttons underneath the text box. Click Save page. If you wish to preview the page first, click “Show Preview”. Remember though this view does not save your changes. You must click on “Save” page to save your changes.
  5. When saved, you are taken to the published mode.
