The end of this lesson the learner should be able to:
  1. Define exponential equation.
  2. solve different exponential equation problems.

Lesson Content

Find the value of x in the following:

  1. 23x-1=4x+3
  2. 4x+2=x-1
  3. 8x=0.25

Solution

  1. 23x-=4x+3
  • 23x-1=(22)x+4
  • 23x-1=22(x+3)
  • 3x-1=2(x+3)
  • 3x-1=2x+6
  • x=7
  1. 4x+2=<8x-1
  • (22)x+=(23)x-i
