**Title:** Functions

**Why:** Functions are everywhere in real-world situations where one variable depends on another. For example, the amount of an hourly employee’s pay depends on the number of hours worked. Therefore, amount of pay is a function of the number of hours worked.

**Learning Objectives: **

1. Learners will read the text about functions and relations.

2. Learners will apply the concept of functions and relations.

**Success Criteria:**

After completion of this module, learners will be able to:

1. Explain functions and relations.

2. Show how to determine if a situation represents a function or a relation.
