Objectives

After the completion of the modules, the learner will: Give examples for the rationale of increasing the flu immunization rates among healthcare personnel. State three myths regarding flu vaccination and discuss how to dispel them. Discuss the safety/efficacy of and the true contraindications for flu vaccination. Discuss the importance of herd immunity and its relationship to influenza prevention. Compare/contrast the perceived risks versus benefits of flu vaccination. Identify online resources to aid in immunization promotion. Demonstrate use of multimedia technology (wiki, online learning tools) to enhance facility of staff learning. Begin a draft plan for the development of a facility based flu immunization campaign.
