GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

The main goal of the study is to expound on the impact of environmental degradation on the bio-diversity of some selected contaminated aquatic and riparian resources in Ghana and Nigeria.

Specific objectives of the study include: i. Assessment of the environmental and socio-economic impact of polluted waters using the two sites as case studies. ii. The development of cheap low-tech remediation techniques for the restoration of the devastated environments. iii. Training the indigenous rural dwellers on basic techniques of remediation, recovery and rehabilitation andof contaminated mangroves and lagoons, using researcher-community interface approach.
