Overview

Commonwealth Learning Network (COELN) is at the bottom rung of the ladder and seeks to establish a physical network to facilitate provision of learning content by bringing together already available network elements.

It is a joint project of the Commonwealth Telecommunications Orgnisation (CTO) and the Commonwealth of Learning (COL) where strengths of the members of the 2 organisations are combined to build the network. Primarily CTO members are in the business of providing connectivity and CTO will seek their contribution, on a commercial but discounted basis for the element of connectivity. Similarly COL will leverage it’s core competencies in education services and learning for development to assist in free content development for COELN.

Partners plan to go live by 1 January 2007.
