Facilitated shared learning

Students learn best when able to explore ideas freely in discussion with others thus establishing learning communities within classrooms. Such learning communities foster curiosity and creativity. Piggybacking on and exploring the ideas of others is encouraged and assists the development of clarity of understanding. This shared learning is facilitated by teachers and provides opportunities for students to learn from and alongside others. At Nelson Central such opportunities are readily provided through the use of groups in Numeracy and Inquiry.
