Eating disorders

on theory of "anorexia nervosa" is that the drive/desire to be a certain way is a reaction to the other humans around the human in question supposedly suffering from "anorexia nervosa"... I think a professor at a University told me that once.. I cannot remember if this theory posited that it was true for all size affecting eating disorders... or maybe all eating disorders.....................
