Learning Online

What is online learning?

Online learning takes place over the Internet asynchronously on Wikieducator and synchronously in a live virtual classroom. It differs from traditional learning because students are not required to visit an actual "walled" classroom and listen to an instructor face-to-face. All the courses and instruction are done on the Internet.

At the live virtual classroom, students are placed in online English classrooms that suit their level. They use microphones, headsets, and chat boxes to communicate. The students study in a virtual classroom that allows teachers to use a white board, PowerPoint presentations, video, audio clips, and websites for online instructions.

Who is the program for?

The program caters to adults who are generally too busy with work, studies, or business to attend regular English classes. Let's face it most people are just too busy making a living to find the time to attend the traditional language learning schools. It is difficult to schedule classes and keep appointments. Sometimes just thinking about the traffic and the bad weather is enough to keep many of us at home. It's often more convenient to stay at the comfort of our homes after a hard day at the office.

What equipment or material do students need to learn online?

Students need a computer with an Internet connection, a microphone, and speakers. Instead of using textbooks, learners use three online learning programs and a virtual classroom.
