Regional E-clustering of Primary Schools

Objectives

The objectives of this project are: To bring primary schools together for collaborative works To facilitate the use of ICT in teaching & learning To pool all resources for sharing To bring colleagues into the wiki world

There are 9 other primary schools around Bon Accueil Government School where I work. For the Excellence Award organised by the Ministry of Education for the primary sector, we were awarded Best School 2007 from among the 260 schools islandwide. We are working towards the ISO 9001 2000 certification - a première for a primary school in Mauritius.

We would like to share our experience among other neighbouring schools in fields like:

• e-learning
• flexible delivery of lessons
• use of technology in classrooms
• teaching teachers in modern techniques of teaching
• pooling and sharing of learning/teaching resources

We plan to advise other schools in the use of ICT in school and classroom administration, in resource management and in monitoring projects like science and history exhibitions.

Wikieducator is the right platform to achieve some of our objectives. Teachers will be trained to edit pages and create more materials for sharing. Notes, handouts, presentations, worksheets, test papers and other resources will be posted for viewing, editing and sharing.
