What kind of English shall we use?

Hi everybody,
as teacher education is a permanent issue in countries of the south (as well as in the north), where English is often n o t the native language, we have to take into consideration that not all of our users have enough vocabulary to understand texts in elaborated code. Shall we simply ignore this fact and leave them to their dictionaries? Or shall we take this serious and explain “elaborated” words? Or even try to say and write texts as basic as possible, that they can be understood easily?
Me personally, I’m as you can easily recognise no native speaker myself, and I always appreciate if I get the meaning of a sentence without a long research in my (electronic) dictionary beforehand. What do you propose? Günther =White Eagle 12:03, 11 July 2007 (CEST)

How do we get information about what materials are needed most?

Hi everybody, before we can start working on texts for teacher education, we need to know what is needed most urgently. What do you propose? Günther--White Eagle 12:10, 11 July 2007 (CEST)
